How Does Sorority Recruitment Work?
Sorority recruitment is a week long process full of ‘parties’ where you, the ‘potential new member’ will meet girls from each sorority. It is a mutual selection process that narrows down throughout the week. Once you select a package our team can dive into all the details of how sorority recruitment works with you, discussing the specific process at your school.
When do I need to start preparing for rush?
We would like to hear from you as soon as possible. There are many things you can do even before you have made your final college choice. Please fill out our contact us page and let us know you are interested in our services as soon as possible, as we will fill up, and getting started early can benefit you in many ways.
How do I join a sorority?
Panhellenic sororities host formal recruitment once per year. Most schools have recruitment in the fall, but some have spring recruitment instead. Formal sorority recruitment is a week-long process that includes registering, gathering letters of rec, creating a social resume, attending ‘rush parties’, and voting in a mutual selection process. Sorority recruitment is a nuanced process that varies from school to school. Our team has studied the unique differences at each school to make recruitment as simple and successful as possible for you.
Who Can Join A Sorority?
While each sorority has its own selection process, anyone who is enrolled in college is welcome to participate in recruitment. Schools and chapters each have different grade requirements, so GPA may be a factor in which sororities you’re eligible to join.

WHAT DO SOME OF THESE WORDS MEAN THAT I KEEP HEARING? LIKE PNM, ACTIVE, BID, MRABA, PREF, ETC
PNM – Potential New Member, you are considered a PNM when you intend to go through sorority recruitment and join a sorority.
Active – A sorority member who has been officially initiated into her chapter.
Bid – An invitation to officially join a sorority.
Pref – This refers the preference round of parties during recruitment. This is the last day of recruitment and you will typically go to two preference parties. They call it pref, because these are the two that you would prefer to be a member of.
MRABA – Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement. A document that each PNM fills out after pref party. The PNM fills this out and states the order in which she prefers to receive her bid and states that she will accept a bid from the sororities she lists and attended pref parties for.
Legacy – Typically this is a PNM whose mother, sister or grandmother was also a member of a certain chapter. Each of the different Panhellenic sororities have their own interpretation of what relatives they will consider you as a legacy, so it is best to check with each chapter’s national website to see their definition of a legacy.
